More 70s

Though US born. I grew up between the Manila and Montreal in the very early 70s, mid to late 70s was mostly Montreal.

Montessori was my first school and in Montreal, it was bilingual. English and French of course.

I wish I could remember more about it. I remember some things, like sitting in class and learning to write 3 letter words. It was interesting to me that while I could read easy words, I didn’t have the mind to hand coordination to write well at that age. Like many of us, I’m sure.

What a time to be born. No computers or internet. For the most part, TV had about 3 channels and the one we had was in black and white and had an antennae.

I learned to read in the 70s. It was the only thing really to do, and I’m thankful for that. I have read a lot of books over my lifetime. Sometimes out of boredom and other times from curiosity. Books without pictures got me imagining how things played out and I learned to visualize what things would be if the stories came alive.

I love this tweet. is it still called a tweet?

Still enjoying life and was getting into a groove. Work. Life. Home. Being a new home owner and still in my 20s. Things at home were starting to break. The joys of home ownership! I was a little handy but I also prioritized work work, and not home work. I tried to enjoy anyway. We…

I don’t have a lot of pictures from the 80s. It was a weird time compared to today. Photos back then were film and cameras cost a bit of money and you had to wait until the roll was full before you went and paid to get the pictures developed. The ones worth scanning were…

Cameras started becoming digital, but for the most part, many of them were film. They weren’t integrated into phones yet and honestly, not a lot of people had cell phones yet. It just wasn’t a thing, but it was starting. One of my first big vacations, was of course, Disney Land! We also went on…
